When there was no Internet, her cookbooks and cooking shows were the cooking ideal guide of housewives in Bangladesh. Cooking is not only necessary It's an art. This idea was established by Siddika Kabir.


She became well-known from house to house by writing various books on delicious recipes and cooking on TV shows. Sidikka Kabir's TV anchoring started in 1965 on the then Pakistan Television with a programme on cooking titled 'Ghore Baire'.


She has written many books on cooking. Siddika Kabir's book, 'Ranna Khaddo Pushti' is one of the best-selling Bangladeshi cooking books. Siddika Kabir received several awards from the food and television industries, including the Sheltech Award, which was given to her in 2009.


Siddika Kabir was born in Dhaka, British India, on May 7, 1931. She attended college for mathematics and received a master's degree on the subject. Kabir began her teaching career in 1957 when she joined the mathematics department of Eden Girls' College in Azimpur, Dhaka. With a scholarship from the Ford Foundation, Kabir obtained her second master's degree in Food, Nutrition and Institutional Administration from Oklahoma State University in 1963. She joined the nutrition department of College of Home Economics, Azimpur, Dhaka, from where she retired as Principal in 1993.


Siddika Kabir passed away on January 31, 2012, at the age of 80.
